Family Canyoning Trip of the Pyrenees Orientales <\/strong><\/h2>\n

In the foothills of the Corbi\u00e8res, located straddling the departments of Aude 11 and Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es Orientales 66, the canyon of the Gorges de Galamus is a deep gash in the limestone barrier of Fenouill\u00e8des which offers a magnificent playful canyon course. The Galamus canyon is made up of a succession of basins and pots, small slides, easy jumps that are never compulsory. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The gorges of the canyon gradually tighten, letting us move between 2 walls of more than 100m on each side. This is really the canyon for fun and discovering the activity without apprehension. No rope abseiling, jumps up to 7 m (not compulsory). <\/p>\n

From the exit of the canyon, we take a small path leading to the Hermitage chapel Saint-Antoine de Galamus<\/span> which is perched at an altitude of 376 meters in the gorges, hanging from the rock. Unbelievable! The hermitage chapel was built in a natural cave located in the wall of the cliff.

The start of the canyon descent takes place in the town of Cubi\u00e8res sur Cinoble in Aude at the L\u2019Oule car park. The ascent ends under the Belv\u00e9d\u00e8re car park on the Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet side in the Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es Orientales. <\/p>\n

The canyon of the Gorges de Galamus is a family aquatic hike. This easy-level canyon is very accessible, equipped with a wetsuit, a compulsory harness to cross a small essential progression handrail and a helmet, discover this sport in the natural and magnificent site of the Cathar country. <\/p>\n
